“Bobwhite” is a Sparkman & Stephens designed sloop (hull #263), built by the Henry R. Hinckley Co. in 1947. The 1946 Sou’wester design was called the “H24” (for the 24-foot waterline) and later became the “custom” Sou’wester in the 1950’s. Beam is 8′ and draft is 5′. Hull, deck and cabin have some rot, and will require areas of replacement. Mast, boom, spinnaker pole, jib boom and standing rigging in excellent shape. New sails in 1999. Aluminum frame for winter cover.
