CLC designed this touring Chesapeake 17LT kayak (16'11" x 231/4"), which was built by Boone Brewer of Smyrna, GA. He plans to use it in the Gulf of Mexico near St. Theresa, FL. Boone used stitch-and-glue construction of okoume plywood, covering the hull and decks with fiberglass cloth and epoxy.

John Seymour modified M.B. Alford's design for the Tursiops Kayak by shortening the length a foot and lengthening to cockpit entry to make it easier to get in and out of the boat. He launched HOBO in Lake of Bays in Ontario, Canada.
Kees Bugel first built an 18' cedar pulling boat designed by Ken Bassett. From there, he moved to this more complex Lala design by Joel White. The boat is cold-molded and includes a small Volvo auxiliary engine.

Here is a Jeff Spira designed Pescadero I recently completed. It was designed as a light tackle tarpon hunter for the central gulf coast of Florida. The boat performs better than expected and makes an ideal fishing platform.
Last August, on Lake Erie, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Carl Longnecker launched his new 15′ Chester Yawl, built from a kit by Chesapeake Light Craft. The boat is stitch-and-glue construction.
L. Jan Childers took a six-hour canoe and tripled it. He writes that he built the canoe from plans in WoodenBoat, and then key adding until he had a sailing trimaran. Launching her in july 2012, Jan won a special award at the Cape Fear Community College for his innovative idea.
Bob Arant built this 16' Meadow Bird sailboat using plans from GFC Boats, 490 Hagan Road, Cape May Courthouse, NJ 08210. SAY WHEN, has a strip-planked hull, and was launched July 2004 in Omaha, Nebraska. Contact Bob at 13615 N. 42nd Street, Omaha, NE 68112.
