On June 17, 2015, Mark and Suzanne Nye launched their Shearwater Double at Silver Springs Florida. The kayak, built from kit by Chesapeake Light Craft, took approximately 135 hours over a six month period. Construction is stitch and glue with sapele deck and okume hull.
Mike Elliott rescued this 35-year-old Chestnut Prospector canoe from a barn and restored it for David and Virginia Moore of Delta, BC, Canada. He used cedar to repair the hull, ash to replace the gunwales, and cherry for the new decks. The seats are hand-woven cane.

Kwei U, of Mill Valley, California, had built model boats and airplanes for 50 years before deciding to build a full-sized boat.
Bob Bondi used Okoume plywood, spruce, cherry, mahogany, and black walnut in building this Shellback dinghy, designed by Joel White. He modified the plans to include a pivoted centerboard and a kickup rudder. Bob completed the boat in August 2003.
When I retired from Coast Guard active duty in 2007, I made a promise to myself to build a boat. Purchased a pirogue kit and plans from Uncle Johns in 2008.
Herb Friese built this 16' x 35" cedar strip canoe, Abenaki model, from plans and materials supplied by Newfound Woodworks, Bristol, NH. Herb said it took about eight months of part-time work in his garage. The canoe will be used in the waters around Catskill, NY, by owner Kathleen Farrell.
