FISH TALES was built from scratch and is substantially all mahogany. A 19 gallon gas tank is beneath the bow deck, along with an anchor hatch. The center console is mahogany and the Captain’s seat is a design borrowed from older Boston Whalers. The boat is powered by a 70 hp Yamaha outboard.
Constant Camber construction. Main hull has inner/outer layers of 1/14″ fir, sandwiching two layers of cedar. Amas are three layers of fir. Started building 30 years ago!!

Blanket Bay was built for my granddaughter, born today, May 27th. I wanted a design that got the cradle up off the floor (my daughter has three little dogs) and this design fit the bill. It’s clinker built of 1088 Hydratec Meranti ply, with solid Maple gunwales.
After a couple of years owning and extensively sailing our 12′ Westphal catboat on Biscayne Bay, we decided we needed a larger day sailor. Unfortunately, the classic day sailor market is pretty limited in South Florida and as we couldn’t find anything we liked, the answer obvious: build one.
Though it was his first attempt at boatbuilding, Herschel Payne took just 4 months to build this 16′ Stevenson Weekender, SEA RABBIT. He built it from common lumber materials and regular hardware fittings, spending just $1500 for the boat.
