Category: Sailboats Cruising
The Huntington class was designed not only as a fine racing yacht but also a comfortable daysailer and overnight cruiser, a boat that the whole family will enjoy. Her keel, stem, deadwood and frames were white oak, planking was cedar and decks were fir plywood. The lines show beautifully easy diagonals and a long load waterline, features tended to make the boat fast. The displacement was light and wetted surface small, further contributing to speed. The rig was conservative and simple in the extreme, the permanent backstay and absence of runners made for ease in handling.
