This design came about when I got to thinking about having an elegant dinghy for our 34′ Topsail Ketch Sunrise.
Skana is a single cockpit, wood strip kayak designed for multi-day use. The design is 17'4 in LOA with a max beam of 24". It has moderate rocker with average volume.
An extremely light weight canoe of good carrying capacity, it is very steady and easy to portage through the brush.
A fuel-efficient, carvel planked, displacement launch designed to be powered by a 6 to 8-hp diesel.
Comfortable for 2 people cruising or 6-8 people day running.
Construction: Carvel planked over steamed frames
Alternative construction: Cold-molded, strip
It rows, it tows and it sails; it's a convenient 7' 9" long and easy on the eyes; and it's a wonderful kit to build, taking a novice only 40-50 hours to assemble plus a little more for finishing.
Originally designed for WoodenBoat Magazine’s Design Competition II, Puget Sound Cruiser is an efficient, rugged, comfortable cruiser that can sleep two comfortably, or four in a pinch.
The success of the proven Chesapeake™ hull shape led quickly to demands for similar three-person designs. With a 700lbs payload and surprising speed.
This rugged and able outboard-powered dory combines beauty with practicality and is easy to build.
Construction: Plywood planking over sawn frames.
Lofting is required.

The Boat BW is a trailerable plywood stitch-and-glue skiff. The outboard-powered modified-vee hull with lifting strakes provides an efficient hull that rises on to plane with little-to-no porpoising. The below-deck bulkheaded and sealed compartments provide superb secondary flotation.
Built on Deer Isle in 1942 , it has an 800 pound steel keel, 4 foot draft.
