Kahuna is a superb coastal and long-distance cruising boat, designed for modern wood/epoxy construction. The first boat was built in Australia, and several have been launched in the US. Others are under construction — in the US (New York) and in Europe (Italy, the UK and Russia).
You think : I’d sure like to have a little harbor skiff to scoot around in the harbor/lake/river. And building a boat looks like fun, but I’ve never done it before; Not sure if I’m up to it.
Cape Cutter 19 lapstrake plywood trailer-sailer
The CS-21 was inspired by the iconic Harkers Island style work boats. This center console design features the famous Carolina flare and a modified V bottom shape for a comfortable and stable ride while maintaining a spacious interior.
Our Deben Class designs are inspired by the original Deben 4-tonner, which my father commissioned from W. M. Blake in 1936 and the Deben 6-tonner, designed by my father in 1950. At least 35 of the 4-tonners and 3 of the 6-tonners were built between 1937 and 1960.
The TRICKY FIVE has been conceived for a precise scope: to realize a boat, which in relation to its size would maximize the ratio between speed and cost. This means that for a determined cost for materials and hours of construction required, it would be the fastest possible.
This 32′ double-ended sharpie ketch will provide the amateur builder with a shoal-draft cruising boat of simple construction.
Construction: Plywood planking over sawn frames.
Lofting is required.
