Lyle Hess Bristol Channel cutter 32 feet


The bluewater 32′ Bristol Channel cutter “PHALAROPE” was designed by Lyle Hess. Built in 1999 by Rockport Marine in Maine. The construction is cedar planks on white oak frames, with a Sitka spruce mast and boom designed by Brooklin Boatyard and built by French and Webb. Westerbeke 35-B diesel engine. New; never used expedition quality Yankee jib, staysail and main sails from Port Townsend Sails. This year the boat voyaged from Maine to Labrador, much of it single-handed. “PHALAROPE” is presently in Nova Scotia, and is headed for Belfast, Maine, USA (Sept 2016).
