Celebration of Working Sail the designs of William Hand Jr. and R.O. Davis

The yacht designers William Hand Jr. and R.O. Davis will be celebrated this year on the docks of Castine, Maine Maritime Academy and Dennett’s Wharf Restaurant and Oyster Bar. Join in the celebrations of one of America’s most prolific yacht designers and visit the Bowdoin, Guildive and more in Castine Maine on July 26th.

The motorsailer Guildive is celebrating 80 years afloat with open decks on Saturday July 26th from 3-6 pm, all public are welcomed. Meet the present and past Captains and hear the story of Guildive a private yacht that sailed from Newfoundland to Trinadad, serving the coast as a World War II picket vessel and many more sea stories.

Tour the Bowdoin Sunday July 27th and step aboard the wooden vessel that has made over 17 voyages north to Greenland and the Canadian Arctic. Enjoy these working sail vessels and classic yachts.

Further events continue on July 28th and 29th aboard Guildive with a unique Plein Air sail and painting workshop with William Rogers, the personally selected Royal Artist for Prince Charles′s most recent North American visit.
