Saw this and thought someone here might be interested. its is listed as a damaged H28 that they will pay you 300 to haul away. It is at a boat yard and one launching is already paid for. If there is a better forum, please let me know.

It looks like a modified H28, one that was built in the Orient in the sixties. Nice project for a guy who is handy with tools. And, it is a sweet sailing and comfortable cruising boat. If you get it, I can put you in touch with other owners. I have one. There is an H28 web site as well.

The time frame is pretty short but it might still be worth getting this information to the Wooden Boat Rescue Foundation: http://www.woodenboatrescue.org/ (if you haven't already)...

If only I lived over there, I'd snatch that hull up, if only for the wood and lead.

I'll be looking for a restoration project in a year or so when I have a house with a shop.

From the pictures it looks like Cheoy Lee Bermuda 30 which is a stretch version of the H28. The B30 has one more port in the cabin than the H28. Built of Burmese teak. It's worth saving if anyone has a the time, talent and place to work.

It's worth saving if anyone has a the time, talent and place to work. Alas, I have a modicum of talent but am severely deficient in everything else.

I saw this thread. Thanks Bruce for the mention. I have e-mailed the owner, but if someone in the LA area could go look at her and take more pix if needed and keep her from getting the saw until we get someone for her, then that would be great.

Cheers, Bruce

I am in LA working now for the next 2 weeks. Pass some contact info and if not far I could sneak a look. I have my dig camera with me.
