hello all. I finally got my Pooduck plans and I am trying to see how others have handled the 1/4" discrepany in the plans? I know Rick Starr talks a little bit about it in his page on the one he built. I may be over thinking it but i am a bit unsure how to correct it without a table of offsets? the only thing i can think of is to ignore the centerline on the plans and measure my own CL once i have the mold and frame cut out? or draw a new baseline with a long straight edge? again i am probably looking too much into it i am sure there is a simpler solution? thanks!

I can tell you what a newbie did when faced with this problem. After tracing the full size plans onto the plywood I used for the forms, I created a grid with the CL square to the finished plywood edge. I then adjusted the sheer and plank lands a bit so that they would be symmetric around the CL. A wise man (or wiseguy) told me that the goal was symmetric & fair lines. If the lands are an 1/8" off of where Joel White intended, you'll still be okay.

I've just finished planking, and the boat looks pretty fair to my eyes.

It was eight years ago so I fail to remember what 1/4" discrepancy you are talking about?
