Pulled out our Bolger Chebacco cat-yawl early this year, and here's what I discovered I'll be doing come spring:

1. Masts are birds mouth hollow spruce. Discovered that the epoxy at some joints beginning to deteriorate -- sort of looks like ants gnawed into the epoxy.... There are 8 coats of Captain's 1015 over the epoxy. Gaff, same construction, doesn't have the problem -- it is covered when we're not sailing. Plan to sand off varnish, re-epoxy joints, re-varnish. This after 3 seasons with the boat on a mooring. I'm a bit concerned about this, so would like to hear from anyone who has had the same issue, has made repairs.

2. Cetol finish on cockpit floorboards, some wood cleats, cuddy bulkhead wall, after 3 seasons, is ready for a re-do. Plan to sand lightly and re-coat once maybe twice. I'm sort of thinking that Cetol Lite is okay for cockpit interior: no gloss = no varnish to reflect in the eye. And I recall reading that 3 years is the time to recoat. Opinions?

3. Wood blocks are seized to halyards, sheets with tarred marlin line which has bleached out some. Not too bad, but it was something I could get to right away so I recoated with Kirby's SaltyDog Deck Oil by lightly touching the seizings with a brush tip and flowing the oil into the seizing. While at it I gave the wood rubrail a light coat of same. Does anyone have a different tarring compound/solution than Salty Dog?
