After many years of work the Ocean Pointer is finished. I have about twenty hours on her, and am very pleased with how she preforms. The design, and plans by David Stimson were first rate. I have some minor problems with paint, but those will be addressed in another post, when I decide to work on them. For the time being check out the pictures.

That is a stunning boat. Love the colors. Good job! Do you have any photos of the building process?

Great boat! She must be quite fast in calm conditions with the Honda 75. I see Stimson's water line is dead on with that maximum recommended engine, or did you lift it a bit toward the stern?

Sweet ride.
May you spend 1000X more days on the water than you did in the build!

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I am really happy with how the boat worked out. As I said, the design and plans were good. I took my time, and had some good help. As to some of the questions. The 20 hours refers to the engine time since I put her in the water. My building time is unknown, as it should be. But, I bought the plans in the Fall of 2003, and worked on it in bits and pieces ever since. There were long periods with no progress, and others where I worked 20 plus hours a week.
The water line worked out well, but I do have 75 pounds of lead shot in the bow to counter weight the heavy engine. Top speed on calm water is about 37 knots(if you believe the Boston Whaler speedo in the boat next to me).
I have posted some more pictures of the build stages, if you are interested. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
Thanks again.
George
