We finally tracked down all of the hidden screws that attached the bulkheads to the house. It wasn't easy....
Here you can see the house sitting on it's rods.

Here's a picture of the bare foredeck.

My Sonicrafter threw it's washer and bolt so we had to go ahead and pull the tank early to find it. The tank had a pipe leading into it that had been repaired with a giant glob of JB Weld or something and had been leaking.

The house is a disaster now and will look worse before she's done.

Now I've gotta figure out how to get the house on the ground without tearing it up.

Yes, you don't have a lot of room around or in front of you to carry it off by the looks of it. Does that tarp lift up to give you a full height door up front to be able to carry it out with some beams running accross under it? (With a half a dozen mates to help). If not would it be worth sliding a few lengths of 2"x4" under it and strapping them as securely as possible to the cabin top and then using them as skids to slide it out over the sides?

Yeah, the tarp lifts. I'm eyeballing different options for it.

Excellent. No really nasty surprises, coming apart nicely. When I did that, the biggest piece of anything I got left with was a couple of feet long.
Enjoy!

She really is a solid and well found boat. When we were driving the wedges to separate the house from the frames, I was worried about how much flex I was getting from the wood but it sprang back just fine. The amount of fasteners hidden in hard to reach places was amazing. It's gonna take some careful studying and planning to replicate that level of workmanship when she goes back together. Very little rot, considering she's 48 years old, had been neglected at times and this is the first time the entire deck and house has been off. I'm amazed and pleased.

What was the cause of this mayhem? Rot in the deck or something else?
Great pictures, at least I'm not alone!

Well, the engine blew so it was time for a refit. The brightwork was getting shabby, there were leaks around the chainplates etc. One discovery led to another and here we are. After seeing the issue around the Port lower chainplate and digging into it, I decided to take her all the way down and get her right. Why do something half-assed? That's what got her in this predicament in the first place. Not on my watch....
Post your stuff up! I, among other, would like to track your progress. Maybe I'll learn something from what you did or are doing...
