Dates for the Small Reach Regatta have been set as July 28 to August 1, 2010.
A big change this year is that we'll be sailing out of Lamoine State Park, which is east of Ellsworth, Maine. The park has a good beach and launching ramp, group camping sites that we can reserve, good facilities, and access to wonderful sailing grounds in Frenchman Bay. (See chart, http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/13318.shtml. Find the bridge to Mount Desert Island, trace east-northeast until you see the short pier—that's where the park is.)
Once we get our details finalized, we'll put up an event notification on the WoodenBoat web site, www.woodenboat.com. Also, a Facebook page has been established: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=104933556820.
We're all quite excited about the prospects for this event, and "taking it on the road" will offer SRR veterans a new sailing experience.
