aloha we are still looking for info on n.z. boatbuilder in gisborne name of r.c. otway or ottway. anybody down under from that era remember him? well he built a superb kauri boat that will probably outlast its owner..must be some old timers there that would have a reccolection maybe..boats name was and still is ceceline 1955. the builder would have to be 80 -90 by now but who knows i heard those kiwis are pretty tough . interesting research into alittle bit of n.z. history.. mahalo derrick

Don't know about Gisbourne. There was an Otway family in Rotorua. Earl Otway sailed an International 14 on Lake Rotorua. Won the Interdominions if I recall right. That would be late '50s. Took the boat to England, with some success.
There is (was) a trucking firm in Rotorua with the same name. Same family. Been a long time since I was in Rotorua.
