Hey fellas.

Haven't finished the first project, already looking for the next.

This time I'm looking for a trailerable bassboat. At least I think it's what's referred to as a bassboat. 19-25 foot range with a small cuddy cabin, and the side windows that "swoop" down from the windshield and blend into the cockpit coaming. I'm looking for a large open cockpit and a transom mounted outboard. Kind of like a Bartender with a transom.

I would like to cold mold it so that it sits tight on a trailer. I haven't ruled plywood out all together yet, but I would like to escape the hull shape limitations that plywood presents. (Yes, I realize that Bartenders are plywood. ;) )

Perhaps a "classic" design with new scantlings for different construction?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The east coast bass boat is nothing but a small lobster boat sporterized. As in the top picture
of this link. Wooden boat has plans, as well as glen-l for 2 lobster boats in the range, just change the cabin and sporterize it with a windshield.

If its going to live on a trailer, how about Merten's OP21: OP 21 Study Plans (http://boatplans-online.com/studyplans/OP21_study.htm)

The OP 21 looks about right, although, I'd like to have a bit of tumblehome in the aft sections. Kind of like so...

Cobia (http://www.dngoodchild.com/5158.htm)

I ordered the documents from D.N. Goodchild. It came with everything except a lines drawing or table of offsets. :( Still fun to look at, if a little too big for my needs.

The boat on the cover of WoodenBoat #186 sure is nice.
