Hello
Does someone out there know where it is possible to get line drawings and/or table of offsets for boats like the Ditchburn Viking series (26ft +/- runabouts) or similar designs by Minett-Shields? Or runabout designs by Minett of about the same size.

George, there was a nice article in wooden boat about two years ago on the minnet-shields boats. photos only though no drawings. I have runabout plans of John L. Hacker if you are interested in the 23-26 foot range and some step hydros of his that are 17-22 feet. Be happy to share for the price of reproduction, mailing, and a cup of coffee. regards mitchell in CT

Thanks Mitchell. Unfortunately I didn't see that article. The inspiration came from a book I bought 2 years ago, covering the 'Muskoka designs'. But, only pictures (and text), no drawings. There is something about the old canadian boats that makes them quite different, however, J.Hacker was partly responsible for some of those designs. Could be interesting to see your plans, could you mail me the profile of the boats? The plans, what do they cover? table of offsets? instructions/recommendations? Full size patterns? Or...?
:) Georg
PS.: The coffee could be difficult unless you live in Norway... ;)

I suggest searching past issues to get the minnet-shields feature article from wooden boat. I emailed a few digitized pieces of the hacker plans to you, offsets, plan, profile, and lines drawings are included in the full size sheets. Respond if you want full size ones. We'll skip the coffee, perhaps a nice scenic post card or a wedge of regional cheese could be a suitable trade if you want prints.
