Hi Everyone,
New here and I'm hoping to find someone familiar with Kingston Lobster Boats. I recently acquired one and am anxiously looking fwd to it's restoration. What I'd like is some information on dating boats like this. I know that they were first made around 1875 and were produced in one form or another until about 1939. So if anyone has any info whatsoever re. these beautiful old boats, I'd welcome your response. Thanks in advance.
glenn p.s. I want to thank you all for your replies. I have been trying to figure out how to post some pics but to no avail. I have been trying to use image station as recommended in the faq but I must be doing something wrong. Any help out there?

I know precious little first-hand, but of course Chapelle covers them in American Small Sailing Craft. You might also contact the Arques school of boatbuilding - they've a lovely Kingston project shown on their web-page.

Tom.Thanks to everyone for their responses. I'm sorry I have taken so long to get back. As for pics of the boat, I'm still trying to figure out how to get one into the message. My Kingston Lobster Boat looks somewhat like the one pictured, however it is an original boat and thus is a working boat without cabin and such. It also is twin masted gaff rigged ketch at 17'. I'm still trying to date it more closely but do believe it to be at least 75 years old.
