HULL LG. 42 feet..not to big..not to small....it doesn't get any prettier than this...just sit on the deck..let the captain steer and sail around the world...such a simple machine that can go on forever...as long as the captain is well supplied with food and rum.. http://www.mjhyachts.com/brokerage_vente/classic10_18/partridge_large.jpg

...and I find it interesting that modern glass/global racing machines have the plumb bow....what happened to using Herreshoffs "Gloriana" bow?...plumb is now faster?

Everything goes full circle, how wonderful, my TALLY HO II will be the latest rage, not bad for an 1883 design. :D

Waterline length used to be severely penalized. As a result, boats developed with long overhangs fore and aft (PIRATE, for instance is pushing 40 feet on deck...with a 21 foot water line) to beat the rule. Once the boat heels the waterline increases by 50 percent or more.

Contemporary rating rules don't give waterline length the same kind of weight so boats develope differently to beat the current ruleset.
