I'm new to the WB forum and am excited to see it inhabited by so many Rascal builders and enthusiasts!

I've just launched my version, named Jilly Bean, last week after nearly two years of construction (and waiting out winter...). See my "diary" of the build process at:

A photo from launching day:

In case you're wondering about some of the details: Mercury 1990 60hp, Teleflex steering, Tendercraft windshield brackets, hand-sewn "tuck-n-roll" upholstery, 100% plywood (in other words I simulated mahog planks on the outer layer by ripping ply and staining).

Hi, John. Welcome and thanks for the larger picture. Those little thumbnails in "My Wooden Boat" just does not do your beauty justice. Good job. You have my permission to be proud.

But where do you step the sail? ;)

Thanks for the kind words! Please go to my web site (linked above) for more photos...

Re the thumbnails on the "Quilt" at My Wooden Boat, did you know that you can click on each of the small images to get the details on each boat (including a slightly larger image)?

Yup. Those are the thumbnails. The others are little finger nails, or micronails or something.

Your web site seems to be indicitive of the kind of work you do. Well done, also.

John, Congratulations on the launch of your Rascal! I have been monitoring your progress over the last year or so on your web site. I am also in the process of building Rascal. Best wishes for many years of enjoyment with the neatest little runabout around!
