For such a famous boat, Quiet Tune seems to be a bit camera shy. I had the good fortune to see her and sail her (my wife sailed her for an entire week!) at WoodenBoat School this summer. She is still owned by Mystic Seaport, but is spending most of her time in Maine since her masts are too tall to get under a bridge over the Mystic River downstream from the museum. Here she is at the WoodenBoat dock. Enjoy!

One of LFH's finest creations IMO. Thanks for the pic.

Thanks for posting this photo!
I sailed on her last year while taking the Ketch Course. What a lovely creature she is!

I had the good fortune to take a close look at her while at WBS (inside and out). A beautiful boat with alot of special modifications to keep her looking that way.

Thanks Garth. She's gorgeous and you're very lucky to have sailed her.I'm envious.
Carl... what sort of special modifications ?

Lets see if I can remember...
There were deck drains to prevent streaks down the side of the hull. Removable chocks when tying down (they just lay on top of the deck). Notches in the spreaders but I can't what the purpose was now. I believe it was to prevent lines from rubbing agains the mast. Actually, you might want to e-mail Ben Fuller to get a complete list.

Carl, I remember those notches in the spreaders, too. I believe they are there to park the halyards so they won't slap against the masts while at anchor. I think those are per LFH's original design. The boat is just chock-full of details like that.
Gotta get out my copy of _Sensible Cruising Designs_.

The notches in the spreaders are to prevent the halliards slapping. LFH didn't want anything interrupting the clean line of the hull, thus the removable chocks (don't drop one overboard!!!). And then, of course, there is the beautiful carved bucket and seat....
Cheers,
Garth
