Yeah, I know it sucks. I was just looking for the worst, ugliest thing I've done. I was seeing if I could do a better Party Barge, built on a Glen-L HUCK FINN platform. In reality, it needs a partial length pontoon under the house to support the all the heavy stuff concentrated aft.

The topsides are supposed to be lightly framed with thin plywood faced foam sheets to keep weight down.

My current boat has a 30 gallon gas tank in the same compartment with the battery, and it was allegedly built to NMMA standards. :rolleyes: Calling it a 'compartment' is a bit of a misnomer, though -- it's above WL and vented top and bottom. I'd move the battery but there's really where else to put it. BTW, my boat is just as ugly as this one.

Boats like this are very popular and useful on our protected inland waters, though. So they have their place.

A better boat for this purpose is Jaques Merten's new GT-27 houseboat. Which, I'm sure I'll take flack for this, I kind of like.
