I am having trouble setting up the station molds for the Cosign Wherry so that they are fair. I would like
to know if anyone who built this boat had the same problem with the plans and if so, how did they correct it?

Did you loft it? Where the dimensions given in the standard method of feet, inches and 1/8ths of inches, not as a fraction?

Hi,

I'm working on the cosine wherry right now seems as though I have been working on it forever. Everything came out fair for me except for one of the aftermold stations. I had to build up one mold with some veneer strips. Only on one side, port side if the hull were upright.

I have the hull completed and am now in the process of fitting g'wales right now.

Hull came out looking very nice (fair).

I used the football method of filling in the final strips instead as described in the book "rip strip and row".

Let me know if you have other questions. Good luck.

I just pulled my cosign off the mold yesterday. What a relief to have made it that far. I also had to build up a station I think number 7 or 8. I had trouble at mold number 2 keeping the planking on the mold. Working with that tissue paper supplied with Rip, Strip, and Row was a real bite. This definitely is not a project for a first time builder. I found the book too vague compared to Ted Moores Canoe Craft of Mac McCarthy's Featherweight Boat Building. Good luck finishing out. This is a great boat!
