If everything worked OK, there should be a picture of a lapstrake pulling boat below. Anyone know what it is? The picture is on the West System website, second pic down under Epoxy Composite Construction. A caption under the pic reads Hill Family Boatbuilding, but a web search finds nothing (except that West System page) for that name. Could this be the Thomas J Hill that wrote Ultralight Boatbuilding? If anyone has that book, is there a design in it similar to this?

I have been thinking about Iain Oughtred's Acorn 15 for a cottage rower, but this one looks nice, too. Any help appreciated.

Sure looks like a Tom Hill. Check Issue #54, p 72. The article was about double paddle canoes, but the shape is almost identical.

Sure does look like the largest Tom Hill/Carl Bausch canoe design - 16' x 39" or so. I have one hanging from the rafters of my garage. It would make a very nice pulling boat indeed with outriggers, (think adirondack guideboat, ot that lovely L. F. Herreshoff double-ended rowboat)although it lacks some stability with high tandem-canoe-type seats.

The Hill book lists a "Cavendish" canoe - nearly 16 feet long and 36" beam, as his largest canoe.
