Doesn't anyone know Billy Aitkin's Fore n Aft ?

Hello all......I got no response last time I posted this query, [except one email and thank you,] but someone out there must have experience of an Aitkin Fore 'n Aft....they are a 28 foot gaff cutter and really quite pretty.I'm intending to build one and really need to talk to someone with real experience of the design.Please respond!

There was a FORE N AFT in a marina here a few years ago which I looked at one afternoon. Unfortunately she was keeping her counsel so we did not go aboard. Since reading OF YACHTS AND MEN years ago I have been sorry there are not more of those Atkin cutters around. I tried to sell one to a prospect a couple of years ago but it didn't work so I don't have the experience you seek, but I think the idea fine and look forward to hearing how the building goes and the sailing.
