Anyone know of a UK source of hardwear for the WB boarding ladder? (see WB catalogue/catalog ;) )

Ian, you probably already know this, but there is a "how-to-build" article for a boarding ladder in issue #84 on page 91.

Ged, you may be a life saver. My wife really thinks I should have a boarding ladder on Prairie Islander. I keep telling her not to fall overboard. She can't swim anyway. Anyway, I looked at the article you cited and it would certainly make her happy if I built one. Maybe I will. What do you think of it Ian? Ya have a copy?

The boarding ladder won't do your wife a bit of good if she can't swim to it, even if its only six feet away. Does she ware a PFD ALL of the time? Probably not. She is a tragedy waiting to happen.

The YMCA has classes for adult non swimmers. Sign her up NOW. Also its good excercise

I do have some nice mahog and iroko set aside though so I'll look around. I'm sure I've seen some bits somewhere,,,,, Daveys maybe.

Ian, your email address, "igwright@ntworld.com" in your profile and the one in my address book doesn't work. I need to send you some stuff.

I'm glad to be able to help, Norm. At the time I saw Ian's question, I had the text index of WoodenBoat's "archives" open in another browser window. I like using it rather than the search function, because I'm always coming across interesting things to read about that I otherwise might not have heard of. It also gives a reference to a detail photo and comments about a boarding ladder in issue #70 on page 82.

Take care, fellas.

It may be help to look under building and repair for "Poulsbo Boat accessories". I put a picture there of a ladder I made this summer using ideas as published in WB.
