I have received a quotation for the little British Dolphin 2-cylinder, 2-stroke 12 hp and 16 hp inboard marine engines with electric starting and 2:1 Hurth HBW50 transmission. Included is a complete list of exhaust equipment (wet or dry), sea cock, stern gear hardware, and props. This looks like a good possibility for the "Victor Slocum" inboard launch. Total weight of engine and transmission is 120 pounds. Anyone out there in forum land have any experience with these engines? Or have any suggestions? Thanks for any input.

They've been in the background here in the UK as long as I can remember so must have something going for them.

On the other hand it's a petrol engine with all the associated disappointments.

ACB has had some very nice things to say about them in the past. Apparently they are very smooth running and, boy, they are light and compact!

Downside; they are petrol rather than diesel.

I like the look of them and if it wasn't for the logistics of getting then to Australia would probably go for them for my re-do project.
