View Full Version : Mystery boat in WoodenBoat advertisment
Wayfarer 1071

Hello All:
I have what may be described, at least by me, as a burning question. In the Nov/Dec. 2002 issue of WoodenBoat there was an advertisement for a wooden boat festival to be held in Tasmania, Australia. I think it was around page 12, but my memory may have failed me. Contained in the ad is a picture of what looks to be a really beautiful wooden boat. I emailed the festival organizers but they could not identify her. Can anyone take a good guess at what it might be?
Best Regards,
KP

Speaking for myself, I don't have that issue. If anyone does, could they maybe post a scan of that ad for us to look at?

Bob.
Yes, I own Wayfarer 1071. I rebuilt her over the last few years. Last summer was my first summer with her. I must say, I very pleased with the results and she lives up to the Wayfarer name. She is a delight to sail and race. I've had some good successes with her placing second in the summer series at the Mactaquac Sailing Association. Great fun and a nice wooden boat. What could be better!
As for the question. Yes, that is a scanned image of the boat in question. Nice, eh? Anyone have an idea. I think you will agree it is quite a striking little vessel.
Cheers,
Kev

Roger.
Hey thanks for scanning that. I really appreciate it.
Any one got any ideas regarding what kind of boat this is?
