Thanks Mike. Interesting that she appears to have followed an almost reverse rig development in that she started as a high peak gaff sloop without a sprit, and progressed to a topsail sloop with a bowsprit .Must have needed more area eh. Quite unusual to see such firm quarters on a yacht that age.
I wonder how they intend to rig her.

G'day John. Given the time and your interest I thought you might be here pretty soon.
Like Waione, she went through a bermudan phase earlier on, but Tony's rerigged her as a gaff sloop again. He's a Dragon-man from way-back though, and she's now got a go-fast aluminium mast and carbon-fibre spars. Ah well.... Her underbody looks like she'd plane running if it weren't for the keel -- she's got a long flat run aft, and he says she goes like one of those flying mammals from the netherplace on a reach.
Why not bring Waione across and take him on? smile.gif

There were many half models there at the time, quite likely Redpa's among them. The new owner disposed of them all.
Why would you throw things like this away? I guess they really didnt value the yacht.
I guess if restoration was easy, then everyone would do it.

Interesting,
Rather modern looking hull shape and keel assembly for a boat built in 1908. Why do you reckon she was relaunched without having been completely repainted? It appears she only has a primer coat on her topsides.
