This is a follow-on from another post in Misc. Boat-related to do with a 30 sq metre yacht.
After responding to an advt for an incomplete project in a deceased estate sale, I went off to view the offering (pics at Shed Boat Album (http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=4290740319) .
I found the 30 sq metre I was expecting and instantly got a bad case of boat lust. The photos (last three in the album) in Imagestation do not nearly do it justice - the size of the shed housing it precluded decent shots. Planked with Huon Pine, with teak decks, its been refastened, dynelled and expoxied on the outside to the waterline, new teak decks, a couple of new frames, new coachhouse etc etc. Mostly its 90% done. I think most of the stuff needed to finish it is in the shed with it.... as I said in the other post - my wife is VERY worried.
But there was another boat too, sitting outside. Stuffed if I know what it is - it looks like a pile of s*** from the outside as the few photos will attest, but inside it is either virginal construction or some obsessive has spent a LOT of time refinishing the interior of the hull. All the interior looks as if it has been epoxied and varnished. The interior shots aren't that good, but it gives you an idea. This one is likely free to whoever will truck it away. But it is a total WYSIWYG proposition. Nothing comes with it except the head (new) lying in the bilge.
But there is a story with this - its a deceased estate as I said, caused by the owner, last April, picking up his shotgun, shooting his wife, writing a note to the kids, calling the cops, and then shooting himself. I am not sure if this was a boat related incident.......

TAKE EM BOTH!!! ...I would  ... but then my boat lust is really really badly serious!! :(
No seriously take em both... then if the missus gets too worried just tell her "ones for Shane but hes over in West Aussie dear and were just gonna mind her for him okay?"... then if shes totally abjectively WORRIED now that she has not one but 2 boats in her yard ...then just slip it into a good solid cradle and stick her on a truck and send her over!! that way by the time we hook up they will both be in the water and well you can see where Im going cant yer mate?!!! :D
And mate dont worry about the missus being worried... MY missus is EXTREMELY WORRIED has been for sometime!!! ... but hey I keep her that way on purpose! :D
Lewan looks like shes had some love and attention given her... which is a good thing... the other one piques the curiosity bug though what is she? etc etc etc
Sad story with them though... shame when someone gets to that stage of not seeing any way out except to do themselves and their partner away... lucky the kids werent there I guess... still sad :(
As I said before... Best of luck with her mate!

Not to be picky or anything, but where on earth is the keel for the more neglected boat? That's too big to misplace. Removed and then what? Ask Margo what it is. Isn't this her sort of boat plus she knows what a boat looks like sans keel. Shane your Jo will bump you off if that poor neglected thing shows up, with or without the missing bits.

To add a bit more info, I suspect that the keel for the neglected boat never existed. The more I think about it the more certain I am that it was never completed. The holes for the keel bolts are there, just a pristine, empty interior. I guess the holes let the rain water out at least! It looks as if it should have a fin keel as there is a skeg for a rudder aft.
I paced out the length - approx 33 or 34 ft long, maybe 10 or 11 ft beam. If someone has the space and time it could be the bargain of the year. Love to know what it is tho.

Tell me more about the "outside boat"! I'm only a few miles from Rouse Hill, and I like the look of her. Is she GRP, or glass over wood? etc etc.
My email address is origma2@aol.com - if you don't mind sending me a phone number I'd love to have a quick chat. I promise I won't try to gazump you on the 30 square!
Cheers
