Hi all,
Are there any building plans for plywood power cats over 30 ft ? (Sorry ,I put the detailed post in build/repair by mistake )
Only 16' for now. http://www.tantonyachts.com/wpe12.gif But is a Power Cat for plywood-epoxy construction.
Had a look at the Ecocat 32?

BUT ... that outboard bracket would help if shallow is not the most important goal.

Hi all;
Not much around is there?
30 ft plus displacement power cat plans don't seem to exist.
There's a New Zealand outfit (get this) with word AFFORDABLE in their promo material for plans at $10,000 NZ, what a joke!
Best Regards to you all

A heck of a lot smaller than the 30ft your looking for... and Jum seems to have gotten side tracked or else hes avoidin havin to say "nope sorry mate I just found that site and thought well heres a choice for yer" :D

Chub .... just email me and I now have the plans as a PDF - its even cheeper than WD says.
Must say that they are basic - cause when you are the designer - alot of the builder/designer conversations are rattling noises in your head smile.gif My Panga plans are better.

Mate they get that high I dont even look!! Id really like to see one of the NAs justify that price for the homebuilder market!! Maybe for the big $$$ boy market but the average homebuilder not a chance!... perhaps theyre aiming at a particular segment of the market? Sheiks? King of Borneo? but you an me? no way... well I know I aint won the lotto lately... eerr ever!
As well as that why would you look when there are designs around... SOMEWHERE!!!... unless they think theres a captive market out there? could be I guess... but it still seems way over the top!
Could be that they value their time and efforts far more than most designers and are trying to lead a resurgence of the elite?
Well... good luck with it mate hope you find the one yer searchin for!
mmm thinking about it I wonder if we can by putting up a link to that mobs site entice JohnB or Jase or some of the other Kiwis to give us an idea of their thinking? Or even some of the NAs and designers that are on the board for that matter... Now that would be an interesting excersize dont you think?
Im still waiting Dave!! What the blazes is a panga ol son?
Edited to add... have you contacted them to find out if its the actual price or just a typo?

I guess if you won lotto you`d just buy one,
(BOAT that is)!!!
That sort of price can be justified for a large CUSTOM , and very special design I guess , but
it would have to be something special indeed, for a stock plan ,NEVER!
Also wondering what a PANGA is ???????
Google EAST CAPE MARINE and look under designs

Now Ive just been doin a bit of snoopin around and Ive come up with a site that may interest you... worth a gander anyway ;)
Boden boat plans (http://www.bodenboatplans.com) have several cats of various sizes up to 9mtrs (30ft)... they state construction of Ali or mild steel but an email may find that they also or may have wooden plans as an alternative? Price for plans for their 9mtr power cat? $595AUS

Thanks for the link Dingo I`ll E- mail them about
alternative materials...
I've come across this one before quite a while ago but thought well its steel...and..heavy .....
and cats should be light....
This one if I remenber correctly ,has one central
engine and twin hydraulic drives.

ah mate the choice bein rather limited makes it well worth the cost of an email ;)
Oh an another with cat plans although bigger than what your after is Bruce Roberts Design (http://www.bruceroberts.com/public/HTML/power.htm) Although he goes for "fibreglass panel construction... again worth the cost of an email or two eh? Damned if I can work out his pricing structure on that site as its US and Euro...
Hes actually pretty quick with a response to emails
