Nice-looking design, Eric. Did you buy?

Just ran into it. But I need a cuddy more than a kit. I consider building a Cap Corse for now

then restoring a Requin (Hajen)

Ah, le Requin! I did not know that this gorgeous, very French, boat was designed in Finland. Lovely boats; more practical than the rather similar Dragon.

More practical? This is good news, any more precise info?
I've never piggy-backed a Dragon, but bébé-requin is still a two-ton girl who sits down like a camel on her slant keel when the sea goes home and will try and eat her moorings alive upwind.

Over on Swallowboats I like the Razorbill! A sailing skiff you can camp in!

How does a Requin compare with say a small Square-meter boat in terms of performance/acommodations?

I especially like the clubbed leading-tack-balanced jib.

For a friend's boat with one of those and not a good space in the bow to handle it, I set up a two part downhaul that went from the stemhead fitting up through the peak cringle and back down to the stem and the aft. Use as a down haul letting the halliard run with a bit of tension against it as you strike the jib and most of it stays in the boat.

John,

The rule has it that the Requin must have a small cabin w/ two bunks, minimum dimensions 1.8 meter by 0.3m at the head by 0.45m at the foot, plus a few closed cupboards.
The idea is that the Requin IS & must remain a live-aboard racer, even tho most of owners only use the cabin as another sails' compartment in addition to the cubicle at the fore.
You'll find the cabin wet & cluttered w/ sails most of the time.
And I'll never sleep on a 1' large bunk!
Some owners chose to stress the live-aboard side and keep varnishing their mahogany cabin.
All in all, it's about 6' long.
I guess there are as many variations among the SqMr crowd.
