It's been asked here before about where to find CAD files of various outboards. Well, I finally found some on the web at the European Mercury site.

http://www.marinepower.com/download/dosearch

Select "Technical Drawings" then click "launch". There are 14 pages of drawings in PDF and DXF format of just outboards. Note: You have to go to page 5 before you hit the DXF files. Here is a link to the dxf of a 3.3 HP outboard. (http://www.marinepower.com/filereader/file/dxf/7/enen/outboard/2005/2-stroke/01%20-%202.5-3.3/dxf/879994.dxf)

There are also drawings of I/O's and other cool motor stuff.

Enjoy!

Here's a GIF of a 25 HP 2-stroke:

Are they life size or do have to guess at scaling them up to actual size? For getting a feel of relative sizes with various boats. What is the smallest motor they have drawings for?

All the ones I've looked at are 1:12 scale. Easy to scale up. The smallest seems to be the 3.3HP I've linked to in the original post.

Well, DUH! Wayne! I missed the 3.3 hp earlier.

This is awesome! Since this motor is shared across several brands and close in size to others, you can see if it'll fit a particular boat. Designers? Are you paying attention?

The dimensions need a little cleaning up. But they always do when you let the software try to place dimensions.
