I bought a nice aluminum mast & boom the other day, and this poor old boat was attached to them. It'll probably have to knackered -- I haven't dug into it yet, but it seems pretty far gone.

I'm curious about it, though. Length, 15' 7", Beam 6'...sloop rig, centerboard. Plywood on sawn plywood frames (looks like marine grade Douglas fir). Mast is 22' 7", boom about 10', Don't see any markings on the sails. Hard chine, shallow V bottom.

Probably something from an old magazine, but who knows.

Any idea?

I'll bet you're right, Popular Mechanix. Rather graceless, eh? A poor man's Blue Jay. smile.gif

It DOES resemble a Blue Jay...sorta.

Hey, mabye it is a pefect boat to turn into a mini-runabout.

Somebody did that for some daysailor at one of the Wooden Boat / Oregon Boat shows -- installed a small outboard on the transom, added a windshield and steering wheel, cushy seats...zoom!

Marshmallows???

Unless it's badly rotted, give it to some local kid... :D

SOME boat is always better than NO boat.

Good idea, Alan. smile.gif

To tell the truth, I won't know if it's worth saving until I pull the centerboard trunk. The plywood seems sound, but some of those frames are starting to compost.
