I happened across some old WoodenBoats the other day and bought several. There was a "how-to-build" feature back about issues 136/137 on a very nice looking little boat called a "Daisy". I may be smoking something, but the article made it sound like something I could actually do! Has anybody had any experience with this design? How does she handle, and how hard was she to build? Any information you might have would be welcome. Thanks

i'm building "heidi" from Richard Kolin's book. it's a nice first project 12' i'm building in plywood. it's almost finished. i've got the cb trunk in and am building the seats. take a look at his book.

i've added the keelson for extra strength and copper riveted the planks which was a nice learning experience and makes me want to do it again. can't wait to start another project.

I'll second Bob's remarks about HEIDI. Rich's book is VERY complete. I was smitten by DAISY too. She was in the first issue of WB I ever bought; very fond memories! I used Harry Bryan's method for the bottom of my HEIDI: chines, first bottom layer, side plank, second bottom layer. I think, overall, DAISY is a prettier boat and I like the CB instead of the dagger. I think she would be an excellent first boat, as is HEIDI. By the way Bob, your post reminds me to post a photo of the sternsheets! Sorry, I forgot  Rick

Thanks for the suggestion, guys. I'll definitely look into the Heidi... But I'd still like an answer to my original question. Anybody out there familiar with Daisy? She seems like such a sweet girl...
