Why am I just now hearing about this guy. I have been into boats of all types all of my life, I am an avid reader and collector of books on boat design, and boatbuilding. And only in the last couple of days has this site been called to my attention:
http://www.thomasecolvin.com
Anyway this guy seems like one of the most practical boat designer and boat builders around.

He, Buehler and Brewer seem to make quite a trio.

There's a lovely Colvin junk rigged schooner in Boston.
Anyway, whether it's boats or books, even when we think we're pretty literate we may stumble across something or someone really classic, really well known to many others, but new to us.
Why now? Because you were lucky enough not to miss Colvin entirely.
