Sea Fever left her dock for the first time this season yesterday. The captain has been redoing the electrical system down below so she has been torn apart for most of last summer,as well as the beginning of this.

Our fellow dock friends treated this occurrance as a reason to celebrate. Cameras came from every where and I hope to have some decent shots to share.

The winds were light, but the temps were moderate, we were accompanied by my 78 yr. old Mom, who had not sailed on Sea Fever. The last time she visited Sea Fever was berthed in the Dismal Swamp Canal between the locks waiting out Hurricane Floyd.

All of the work aboard her was worth the serenity of a days sail to nowhere and back with the family.

I wish everyone who works on their boats the glorious feeling of finally slipping those dock lines and getting out there.

Nora,
That sounds great! Can't wait to see the pictures. "Slipping those Dock Lines." What a statement of faith. All that work and now your throwing off the last vistage of (land)security, which that dock line represents.
I'm glad it went well.
