Okay I'm mostly just dreaming here since I'm about to build the maine coast peapod. But I have a old evinrude outboard it's a 3hp I believe and I was wondering if there are any round bottom boats about 10feet long that would work with this. I don't think I've ever seen a round bottom boat in that size range specifically designed for a outboard. anyone??? thanks ~siberianswampdonkey

When I was a kid a friend of mine had a 9' Old Town wood/canvas rowboat with a 3 hp Johnson. We went everywhere in that thing.

I like the 12 foot semi-dory/cartop dory in John Gardner's Dory Book and Classic small craft.

The bottom has a flat plank, but is rounded like a swampscott dory. I'll be working on one next.

Take a look at Compumarine (compumarine.com). They have plans for several round bottom boats in the 10ft size range.
