Greetings,

I'm looking for websites where people are home building small (sail) boats. The sites where ordinary people are tracking their boat building progress on the interest. Primarily looking for the garage builders that are building 18 - 25 foot boats.

For the time I am living my life vicariously through their postings.

As a cedarstrip canoe and kayak builder; I can fully understand the challenges of overcoming the the smaller details and how they build to become the the finished dream.

Todate my dream is to build the Cape Cutter 19 in the (5 year, or so) future.

I have the following websites already;
http://www.alistego.com/
http://home.att.net/~willmarsh3/el/elver.html

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and all the Best,
Doug

Sorry, Wayne, it works on my computer and on my son's. Can anyone else get it? What happens if you search on "Richard's Eun Mara"?

Doug...

The http://www.HavenBuilders.com web site has been in existence since January, 2000 and currently features the work of twenty amateur builders of the Joel White Haven 12-1/2, (centerboard version of the famous Herreshoff
12-1/2.) Some have completed their boats, but most are at various stages of construction. There is an active Forum on which you can search answers to almost any construction question about the boat, or ask your own. When you're finished you'll have one of these:

I'm buidling Oughtreds Fulmar: Fulmar (http://www.people.zeelandnet.nl/djllagen)

The site is currently suffering under much changes, but the part about building the Fulmar is still available in English.

I came across this one today, about building a Welsford Navigator (yes, not quite 18 foot but it's a lot of boat nonetheless), good humoured and good value IMHO.

"To date my dream is to build the Cape Cutter 19 in the (5 year, or so) future."

Sounds about the right "timeframe" for building at home... Here's my link, plus one picture for each year of construction... ;)
