Nw school of wooden boatbuilding features a Truant. anyone have any experience with this sailboat?

No.

TRUANT was designed by Ed Louchard <edo@olympus.net> from Port Townsend, WA. It's a stock design they build at the NW School of Wooden Boat Building (http://www.nwboatschool.org) there. A couple pictures:

but in answer to the original question: nope...never sailed one. But they look awfully nice.

And they look even better in person. I know a guy who worked on one when he was at the school. He says that lovely fantail stern is, um . . a challenge, or perhaps even a @#($%&!, to build
