Shellback or Pooduck

I am planning to build either a Shellback or Pooduck. I will learn to sail in it and want to both sail and row her. The boat will live on a trailer. I will generally have two people in the boat so the added length of the Pooduck seems like an advantage. I would like to hear from anyone who has experience building or sailing either or both boats.

I too had the same decision, Shellback or Pooduck and I chose the Pooduck because of her larger size. Mine is almost done and should be in the water late this summer.
I am a first time builder and had no problems. If you live near Canton, Ohio you can have my forms and I will be happy to answer any of your questions.
