Manchac skiff

I recently saw an inquiry about this type of Louisiana boat on another discussion group. I did a couple of Web searches and turned up almost nothing. All I found is that it is a flat-bottomed boat of a local design. No pictures.

Anyone recognize this type of boat? What do they look like? What were they used for?
