Click on the link below to see the little eight foot pram I finished a couple of weeks ago.

It has only one thwart because I wanted to keep it as light as possible. Not being the type to sit on a stationary bike, I built the pram as an "exercise machine." Three days a week I stop off at a small lake on my way to work and squeeze in 30 minutes of rowing. Happy? Why yes I am. smile.gif

Looks like a wonderful little 'pond punt' ;) or lake pram. You should have lots of fun with her, great job.

All she needs is a fishin' pole and a bucket for some Bluegills.

Looks great. When I saw her name I wondered if she'd be purple. She is! In picture no. 10 it looks like she rides kind of high in the water. :D

A loaf of bread, a case of beer and thou.

Get her on the pond out of earshot from the shore, drop a hook with no bait, pop open a cold one, prop up your feet, slide your hat over your eyes and just think about it.

Nice job!

Thanks for the compliments. She's built to Sam Rabl's "Midge" design (free plans courtesy of the public library).

In the photos she is aground (and empty). When she's afloat and I'm aboard, the stern transom just barely touches the surface.

Why purple? My wife wanted to paint our shutters a certain shade of purple and had to buy four quarts before she found the right color. The lightest of the "wrong" colors went on the inside, the darkest outside. I guess I gave myself away there--I subscribe to the old "good house paint makes good boat paint" theory (especially for a low budget, limited use, stored indoors kind of thing like AUGERGINE).

Well, anyway, I like her. I'd be careful rowing her with that reptillian friend of yours around.
