I have built 8 cedarstrip canoes over the last two years and I still have about 150 18ft strips left over and wouls like to try to build a rowing/sailing boat. The Stoney Lake skiff from Ted Moores looks a possibilty although it looks more like a fat canoe and I would like a transom. I thought of stretching the Rice Lake skiff to 16'6"Anyone got any ideas??
Criteria
1. Weight around 80 lbs
2. Car toppable
3. Watertight compartments fore and aft
4. Simple rig, one mast only.
I have a White Guide rigged for sailing and it is very fast with a centreboard, but with no deck it gis easily swamped
