Just starting out this project to help pass the winter months along a little fast-anyone done the project before?

I have "sucessfully" built two dinghys that would qualify as having classic lines using strip construction. The major problem I had with both boats was getting the strips to lay fair in the hollow bow sections, much clamping, sweating, drywall screws to molds, etc;

I guess you mean the "Classic Dinghy" by Clark Craft? I built the 12' version a few years ago. Thought it had some good stuff and some bad, of course. Assuming you are asking about this particular design from this particular company, you may want to throw away any cruddy epoxy they sell you. Stuff stinks.

Let me know either here or by email (I don't usually watch Designs / Plans since I am commited to one design already, so email is good).

I'd be happy to tell you my stories and warn you of what I can remember. Also found a couple of simple things I changed and now really like. Good Luck.

Oh, and she's fun on the water, my wife and I have spent many evenings in the small creeks near home in that little boat. http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/smile.gif
