Here's a Woodpussy sailing this past Summer on Long Island.
http://24.47.49.176:8000/sailingworld/undersail.gif. We're attempting to find a builder to produce these. Would any of you build them folks that may respond to this note?
How many of you folks would be interested in getting one of these beauties if we find a builder to make them at a reasonable cost? We have a few sailors who want new Woodpussys but we don't yet have a builder at an acceptable price. A Custom Composite builder worked up a price this year for a beautiful boat trimmed in teak but our sailing group was turned off by the price. What about a f$berg62ss Woodpussy? These haven't been built in 35-40 years and there are only about 75 left, most in f4ber$#ass construction. To learn more about the almost extinct class visit the class website at www.uswpca.org. (http://www.uswpca.org.)

Tony, (Woodie)

Builders have been located who will build the Woodpussy in Wood or "other stuff". We're holding a session in NJ with sailors interested in seeing more boats built to build existing fleets and for day sailors. With a few more interested buyers, builder(s) will provide boats. Let us know if you're a "potential WP owner". We'll post information after the 2/26 session. New new photos of the Woodpussy have been added to my sailing site at http://24.47.49.176:8000/sailing/world regards,
Tony

In the past several months three builders have stepped up to the plate. Construction has begun and the builders have committed to build the first of about a dozen boats they have interested buyers for. These will be the first Woodpussys built commercially in about 35 years. We'll post information to the Woodpussy Web site at www.uswpca.org, (http://www.uswpca.org,) possibly in April or May to provide the builders' website infomation for interested sailors.
Regards,Tony

Thanks guys. We now have a builder in Colorado (cold-molded, encapsulated in epoxy w/glass cloth exterior-finished BRIGHT. He started lofting the first of 5 boats he'll build this year and has pre-sold 4 of them. A builder in Texas will start in a couple of weeks to build traditional plank on frame, epoxie encapsulated with a cloth exterior. A builder in China is excited about the Woodpussy and plans to make it a sail trainer in China. he has 4 or 5 pre-sold and will also start production shortly. I'll post their web site information to www.uswpca.org (http://www.uswpca.org) after construction is well under way, possibly in April or May. These builders plan to show their boats, at the Woodpussy regattas in NJ and Michigan this summer. If SWIMBO gets her new kitchen,I get my new Woodpussy; fair enough? Regards,
Tony

Dave and Mike,
I tried to get Holzbt to build one with me, but you should see how crammed his shop is with stuff he'll finish up at some point. He's helping another friend restore an old Wooden Palmer Scott (like in the ad you sent). We found it impossible to convince the WP class to let us use carbon fiber cloth between two layers of 1/8" veneer to eliminate the third layer, cut some cost and labor time. Our current challenge is to get sailors to step up to the plate to buy boats. The 3 builders on board have committments from a dozen or so sailors. The boats being built this year will add to 75 or so left in the world.
Regards Tony

It doesn't take into account all the boats that are stored elsewhere, waiting their turn, like the 2 in my carport, the one in his shop parking lot, a few at the local boatyard, and a dozen or so scattered around his property.
