We saw 'Mia' anchored out and all covered up for the winter at the entrance to Todd Inlet N. of Victoria last week. Got a pic I'll post soon.
Very beautiful boat. Looks like the real deal.

JW;

Mia is #2 of the "Donella" class, the original design was Giles number 279, dated 1958. Mia has been given design number 361. It's interesting that Giles assigned new design numbers to sisterships.

Mia was built in the early 60's at AH Moody in England. I believe construction is teak on Iroko frames. She is 43' LOA, 33'LWL, 10'9" beam. draft is 6+', displacement is 13.6 tons, and sail area is 831 sq. ft.

The owner usually lives aboard.

"Mia" is truley a wonderful boat, and is in fact Teak. These are pictures at her going away party earlier this year at the Westsound dock here on Orcas. The owner, in his 80's had had her since the 60's and was able to have her tied up right in front of the house. He died shortly after the sale.
