Alright, I've come across a vintage 60 horse envinrude in nice condition. For a shorter term project than my last "half-of-my life boatbuilding endeavor", I would like to build a 16-18' 1950's-60's style runabout like the Aristocraft 14' Torpedo Model but just a bit bigger or something with a similar Flair and feeling to it. Perhaps even one with tail fins. I really want a design that is unique and interesting. comments, suggestions? email me direct or post a response. Thanks, mitchell in CT

I would look at the Glen-L designs. Many from that time period and they llook it. site is at www.Glen-L.com (http://www.Glen-L.com)

Look for a book by Ed Monk on "How to Build a Wooden Boat, with 16 small boat designs."

In it there are plans for two outboard runabouts, 14' and 16' and a larger inboard runabout. I'm thinking the 16' may come pretty close to what you're describing.

Thanks for the response!, do you or does anyone have the ability to load an image of those plans for me to see or direct me to an internet location where I can see study plans? When you get the desire and bug to build a boat (again) it's a knawing that won't leave you alone. Based on experience, one should lay down until the feeling goes away, but based on experience when the craft is done, the feeling is like nothing. regards from CT, mitchell
