Would you take this into Georgia Straight?

What a great looking boat. I've seen these in a catalog of designs and have three check marks and a star next to it. I'm glad you posted the place to see it 3D because I've wanted to see one. The drawings don't do them a bit of justice.

In a word, very carefully...

My sailing up there has been very limited but memory is that mostly there's not much wind and occasionally there is way too much. Assuming enough fuel for the OB and some brains about when not to leave whatever little tickle you're holed up in, it could be a lovely boat for the area.

There are few pleasures like gunkholing, expecially in an area where if you awaken really softly, you might catch an elk wading past your boat.

Pardon an ingnorant question, but why would you glass over the fixed lead ballast (as described over at Dix Design)?

Given a suitable weather window, absolutely. Why not?

. . .Why would you glass over the fixed lead ballast? To keep it fixed, I'd guess. It's all internal, and probably in relatively small pieces for ease of handling. You really don't want it moving around.
